“I believe in a world where love does not remain just a feeling, but transforms into action. Where every living being has the right to life, respect, and peace.”
Within the SFT Animal Sanctuary — the largest animal sanctuary in Morocco, founded by Salima “Sally” Kadaoui in 2013 — the first Garden of Peace on African soil is born. A symbolic and real place, where olive trees, rescued animals, and people come together in an embrace of rebirth and compassion. The result of a collaboration between The Garden of Peace and SFT, this garden embodies a new vision of the world: a place where every act of kindness becomes a revolutionary gesture, and love for animals transforms into concrete action for peace.
“We planted olive trees where there was once only abandonment.
Today, in that silence, the voice of hope is growing.”
Every year in Morocco, thousands of dogs are killed out of fear of rabies and to control stray populations. The Hayat Project — “hayat” meaning “life” in Arabic — was created to change this mindset, saving lives through education and community engagement. Thanks to the work of SFT, a three-time consecutive winner of the Global Rabies Day Award for the Meracon region, the project promotes compassion as a social value.
The goal: to make Tangier the first rabies-free and truly animal-friendly city in Africa.
“Educating for compassion is the first step to saving lives — both animal and human.
Hayat means life, and we celebrate it every day through love.”
With the Hayat Project, we bring much more than food: we bring dignity, listening, and presence. Every embrace, every shared smile on the streets of Tangier is a seed of peace. Because Hayat means life — and no one should have to face it alone.
Among the hills of Tangier, where abandonment and suffering once reigned, today a light of hope is shining.
A tangible light, born from daily commitment, sparked by the meeting of three realities united by a shared vision: SFT Animal Sanctuary, The Garden of Peace, and the Hayat Project.
Together, they have created a place that is not just a refuge for animals in need, but a true center for social transformation — where education, protection, and care become tools to build a different future.
In this renewed space, compassion turns into action, and fragility transforms into strength.
Relationships are nurtured, respect is promoted, and awareness is sown.
Every animal rescued, every person involved, every gesture of care tells the story of a shared rebirth. This is a beacon for the future — a tangible example that even in the most wounded places, peace can take root when love translates into presence, listening, and shared responsibility.
“In a forgotten corner of the world, we have lit a light that will not go out:
the light of commitment, care, and the courage to love.”
